My name is Ella and I am an accredited NatHERS assessor and renewable energy engineer based in Sydney, Australia.
I am passionate about all aspects of energy in the home whether it be energy efficiency, energy generation and especially, passive design principles.
For over three years I have been conducting NatHERS and BASIX assessments around Australia, with clients ranging from some of the largest developers in the country down to individual owner-builders and everything in between.
I have a Bachelor of Renewable Energy Engineering from the University of New South Wales where I completed my undergraduate thesis on energy efficiency and passive design.
From my experience, I have learned that the most comfortable home is one that adopts a holistic approach to energy efficiency. This begins with the intelligent adoption of passive design principles in the design phase and extends to the careful consideration of which energy consuming systems will best suit the local climate and the occupant's needs.
I understand that energy efficiency is not always the priority and that the needs of a developer with a high turnover are affordability and minimum compliance while an architectural home will often place aesthetics above efficiency. My aim is to help you achieve compliance without compromising your priorities.
